How do I store my vacuum?

Cleaning and Maintenance
When and how do I empty the dust cup?
For optimal performance, empty the dust cup each time you vacuum, or when debris reaches the Max Fill line.
Press the Wand Release button to detach the handheld vacuum.
Press the two release buttons at the same time and slide out the dust cup.
(You can also empty the dust cup when it is still attached to the handheld vacuum.)
Hold the dust cup over the trash and press the Empty button on the front of the dust cup. The bottom lid will open, allowing the debris to fall out.
Tap gently to empty contents.
Close the bottom lid, pressing it until it clicks into place.
Reattach the handheld vacuum to the top of the wand, pressing until it clicks into place.
When and how do I clean the filters?
There are two pre-motor filters and one post-motor filter.
All filters may need to be cleaned if the vacuum stops picking up dirt, if airflow is restricted, or if you notice lighter suction or no suction.
For optimal performance, clean the filters regularly. Between cleanings, lightly tap the filters over a trash receptacle to remove dust and debris as needed.
Rinse the pre-motor foam and felt filters once a month, or as needed.
Lift the latch on top of the handheld vacuum to remove the filter cover, then take out the foam and felt filters.
Rinse both filters with water only.
Allow filters to air-dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
Once the filters have dried, install the felt filter first, followed by the foam filter.
Reattach the filter cover, pressing down firmly until it clicks into place.
Rinse the post-motor filter once every 9 months, or as needed.
Locate the filter cover under the handle and press the button to remove to remove the cover.
Pull out the post-motor filter. Rinse it with water only.
Allow the filter to air-dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling it.
When the filter is completely dry, reinstall it.
Reattach the post-motor filter cover until it clicks into place.
Note: Do not place filters in the dishwasher or washing machine.
What happens if I experience small static shocks while I am vacuuming?
Certain dry temperatures in winter or dry desert areas may cause common static electricity to build up in the vacuum, producing small shocks, similar to what you might experience from contact with doorknobs, wool sweaters, or blankets. This is harmless. To avoid this, we recommend moisturizing your hands and/or removing wool socks or sweaters prior to vacuuming.
What should I do if my vacuum is hard to push or pull?
For more maneuverability on area rugs, use setting I, Bare Floor.
Gently step on the floor nozzle and tilt the handheld vacuum back to activate the brushroll. The brushroll will spin slowly in this mode.
For easier movement on high-pile carpets, slide the Floor Type button to setting II, Carpet.
Gently step on the floor nozzle and tilt the handheld vacuum back to activate the brushroll.
The brushroll will spin quickly in this mode.
